For more than 55 years the Baker Institute has been a world leader in veterinary medical research. The Institute has focused primarily on conditions that are widespread and which have an infectious origin or genetic base. Millions of animals have been helped through discoveries made here, including the development and evaluation of the distemper and canine parvovirus vaccines, and new genetic tests for inherited diseases to name but a few.
